MESSAGE from the Principal Our Campus in central London is close to the new British Library and the lending library of the University of London. Both are used by our students because we emphasise the importance of reading extensively and personally researching the topics of a Project. However, our lecturers are all highly qualified and well able to empathise with student needs and we encourage students to make use of our “open door” policy to voice any difficulties they may encounter. We offer assistance with Visa applications, accommodation, finding part-time work, and expert counselling as to the suitability of a course to meet the objectives of a student. In addition, those students studying Degree courses are offered free attendance to advanced English classes. Our Campus brings together students from many different countries plus a rich diversity of cultures and it is a place where friendships will be forged that will endure a lifetime. We aim to ensure that graduate students of Tudor College will remember their time with us as one of the most rewarding experiences of their life. TUITION Retention of newly acquired knowledge is obviously a key factor to the successful completion of a course and to this end, lecturers at Tudor College guide students along a path to the active “discovery” of knowledge rather than the student being a passive recipient. Lecturers point out and explain key aspects of a topic and then assist students to identify where to apply their study time and finally master the topic. This active participation by the student greatly enhances the retention of the subject matter. It will generate a sense of achievement and fulfillment in the student who will eventually find that this preparation for the rigors of degree education can be great fun as well. For many of the qualifications we offer, the syllabus is in modular form thereby permitting students to study part-time or full-time and commence their course at various times throughout the academic year. Short intensive courses as well as weekend and evening classes are also conducted for the benefit of students who are unable to attend weekdays. Course material is expertly prepared for each topic and Module Planners are a road-map to prompt students as to what they should be studying and books they should be reading at any given stage of their course. For selected courses, workshops and seminars will be held that will test students’ ability to debate and develop oral communication skills. The lecturer will act as facilitator. Assessment is mostly a combination of assignment and examination and students are tutored in how to maximise their potential. They are coached in the skills and strategies of effective examination technique and how to practice the key skills required. As our classes are kept relatively small, students get individual attention and guidance on how to succeed in coursework assignments and pass examinations. PASTORAL CARE At Tudor College parents and students can relax and feel safe in the knowledge that all possible care is extended to every student. Whether a need be great or small there is always someone available to give help and guidance. We arrange a student pass for cheaper public transport and help with accommodation, medical issues, immigration matters, opening a bank account, work regulations and obtaining part-time work and general information the student may find useful. We aim to ensure that students are free of unnecessary complications to the practical issues of living away from home and that their time at Tudor College will be full of happy and memorable experiences.
